Poem of the month: Motto
March’s poem is by Bertolt Brecht.
On the first of every month, I send a poem to a random, and ever-expanding, group of past and present colleagues. I’ve been doing it for about 16 years.
This month’s is Motto, by Bertolt Brecht, from his Svendborg Poems.
I adore this. It gets me every time. The tone and simplicity. It’s like a perfect ad for art. But I have to say, I wish it wasn’t so relevant. I’m tired of the dark times.
